Data protection (Privacy Notice)
Holmesdale Building Society is committed to ensuring that your personal data is kept securely and only used for the purposes for which you provide it to us.
For a full description of what personal data we collect from customers (and other people associated with Holmesdale accounts), the basis on which we collect it and what we do with it, please see our Privacy Notice.
Our Privacy Notice is eight pages long and provides a fair amount of ‘legal’ content. If you’d like to read just the main points, you may prefer to read our summary version: Privacy Notice (summary).
This is the version we are sending to all existing customers and provide to new customers. It replaces the ‘Data Protection’ section of the application form(s) you will have completed if you have applied for a saving account(s) and/or mortgage products. It contains summary information about what we do with your personal data and a summary of your rights.
The legislation covering Data Protection until 25 May 2018 is the UK Data Protection Act, 1998. From 25 May 2018, this is replaced by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This is EU-wide regulation. It provides a higher level of protection for individuals, including a number of new rights.
