Reigate, Banstead and Horley Sports' Young Person of the Year Award

Oct 09, 2017

We’re always looking for opportunities to support the local community so when the Reigate, Banstead & Horley Sports team approached us to sponsor the young sports person of the year, we jumped at the chance.

Reigate is bursting at the seams with talented young sports people striving to make a name in the sports world and what better way to celebrate our local youth than by encouraging those individuals to keep working towards their goals and others to get involved as much as they can.  Our Chairman, Joanne Hindle popped along to the awards ceremony at the Old Reigations Rugby Club to present the award to Amber Castles who is a student at Athena Martial Arts who meet at the Sovereign Centre in Woodhatch.

Amber won the award for the young sports person of the year for her dedication and determination to compete internationally as a member of the Great Britain Kick Boxing squad.  She achieved a bronze medal at the British Championships.  She trained with Team GB and was selected to fight in the European Championships.  She is a real asset to the club and it’s no wonder the youngsters she helps train there look up to her and are inspired by her success and positivity.

We look forward to watching Amber go from strength to strength.
