The Holmesdale Building Society has been offering mortgages for over 160 years. We understand that not all mortgage applications are the same and should be assessed on individual merit and affordability.
We provide responsible lending and offer a range of variable discounted mortgages as well as our fees paid remortgage scheme. We also have a range of family assisted options, which may include a guarantor or various forms of collateral security.
We accept applications from intermediaries who have provided advice and a personal recommendation on regulated mortgages, provided that they are directly authorised by the FCA or indirectly authorised as an Appointed Representative of an FCA authorised firm.

In order to register with us, you will firstly need to print and complete the Broker set up form which is available for download below. The original broker set up form needs to be sent to our head office together with evidence of the following:-
- FCA Authorisation Certificate
- Current Professional Indemnity Insurance
- Data Protection Licence
A procuration fee is paid following completion and is calculated based on the size of the initial advance.
Procuration Fee of 0.35% payable up to a maximum of £2,500 for any one case and repayable to the Society if full or partial redemption is made within 12 months of mortgage completion.
Products FP26, FP27, DS34, DS35, DS36, HD10, HD11 and HD12: procuration fee of 0.35% payable up to a maximum of £2,500.00 for any one case and repayable to the Society if full or partial redemption is made within 12 months of mortgage completion.
Products RM16, RM17, RM18, DM16, DM17, DM18, FH06 and FF06: procuration fee of 0.35% payable up to a maximum of £900.00 for any one case and repayable to the Society if full or partial redemption is made within 12 months of mortgage completion.
When packaging an application please ensure the appropriate valuation fee and product arrangement fee (if applicable) are enclosed. Cheques should be made payable to Holmesdale Building Society re: applicant’s surname.
Before we can begin to process a case, the following original documentation is required:-
- Last 3 consecutive payslips, together with P60 for the current year.
- Last 3 years certified accounts, if self-employed.
- Latest pension statement, if retired.
- Last 3 months consecutive bank statements for all bank accounts held.
- Latest annual mortgage statement.
- Cheque for valuation and application fees.
- Proof of Identification.
For Self Build Applications:
These are all subject to a revaluation from the valuer and Architect certificate at each stage with the completion certificate being provided before the release of the final stage.
Minimum requirement is that the build process is Architect supervised and certified throughout and an NHBC is provided on completion of the build.
Additional Documentation Required for Self-Build:
Full plans and building specifications will be required for all self build applications together with the appropriate planning permissions. In addition, a detailed costings plan will be requested.
